DIANE DESIGAUX VREELAND
YO SOY FRIDA
Diane Desigaux Vreeland
I was born in France and I live in New York. That said, I’ve always felt alive and at home in Mexico.
Now I work in Fashion. The best part of my work is helping people feel beautiful. I love to play with textures and colors until the clothes and accessories bring out something new in the individual.
I was thrilled to participate in this project, as I’ve always been drawn to the figure of Frida. Frida was proud of her mixed origins and never apologized for being who she was. She suffered so much, but always got back on her feet, determined to live free, to fight, and to be. Always stronger and louder. Such a badass! A true Feminist, an incredible artist and an amazing woman.
In these photos, the red rope around my arms symbolize blood and love. It represents the link to her family, and to the baby she desperately wanted.
I intended to embody her suffering, her pride and her strength.
